SPYRUS Announces Continued Support for FORTEZZA HSMs
San Jose, Calif. – November 14, 2005 - SPYRUS, Inc. announces its 10 years of continued support for FORTEZZA Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and the Defense Message System (DMS), with its new FORTEZZA Series II HSMs, available today. SPYRUS pioneered the use of the FORTEZZA token within the U.S. Government, having distributed over 300,000 FORTEZZA and LYNKS tokens for use in DMS since first introducing them in 1993. The new FORTEZZA Series II HSM, which supports up to 50 certificate slots, is available in either a PCMCIA interface version (model number PC530) or a new USB interface version (model number PC830). Both versions are in the FIPS 140-2 Level 2 validation process. SPYRUS also announces the continued availability of its FIPS 140-1 Level 2 validated “Jumbo” FORTEZZA card (model number PC300J), which supports up to 128 certificate slots. Later this year, SPYRUS will release a USB version of the Jumbo FORTEZZA card (model number PC830J) and USB and PCMCIA versions of the “JumboMX” FORTEZZA card (model numbers PC830S and PC530S, respectively). The JumboMX FORTEZZA Card will support up to 400 certificate slots. All of these FORTEZZA Series II HSMs are under evaluation for FIPS 140-2 Level 2. Please contact SPYRUS for more details.
