Antepo and SPYRUS Partner to Deliver the Industry's Most Secure Instant Messaging System to Government and Private Sectors

SPYRUS to Integrate Antepo's OPN System into Its Suite of End-to-End Security Solutions to Add Interoperable IM and Collaboration Capabilities

NEW YORK, Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Antepo, Inc. (http://www.antepo.com), a pioneer of secure, interoperable Enterprise Instant Messaging (EIM), together with SPYRUS(R), Inc., a leading provider of high assurance security products, today announced a partnership to provide a suite of highly reliable, interoperable instant messaging and collaboration products that meet the stringent security requirements of corporate and government organizations worldwide. As part of the Antepo Partner Network(TM), SPYRUS will integrate Antepo's Open Presence Network(TM) technology into its hardware-based cryptographic systems used to secure and manage a wide variety of activities requiring authentication and controlled access to data on enterprise networks. Antepo's flagship product, OPN System(TM), is the only EIM solution on the market today which supports interoperability between all XMPP and SIP/SIMPLE standards-based systems -- enabling secure, federated communications across any IM network regardless of enterprise, protocol, or firewall boundaries. SPYRUS will use OPN System as the backbone to build a suite of secure, carrier-class EIM and ad hoc collaboration products for both Internet and wireless communication. With the integrated product suite, SPYRUS will initially work to provide end-to-end security solutions for NetCentric Enterprise Services (NCES) and Multinational Information Sharing within the Department of Defense and other agencies within the federal, state, and municipal governments as well as the private sector. SPYRUS Identity Management solutions will complement the OPN System by adding high assurance auditability, non-repudiation, and granular authentication for industry sectors that require strict controls of messaging for information security and regulatory purposes such as the financial services, brokerage, and pharmaceutical sectors.

"Nowhere is security of greater importance than in the government sector, so our solutions must provide the built-in encryption and other intrusion safeguards that public messaging networks lack. It is imperative that agencies are not only able to share highly-sensitive information in real-time, but can also ensure the confidentiality of that data as it travels within, and between, communities of interest," said Tom Dickens, Chief Operating Officer of SPYRUS. "Because the Antepo OPN architecture is based on open standards, it allows for the seamless exchange of instant messaging traffic across disparate IM networks. This interoperability, along with its built-in security capabilities, made Antepo's OPN System a perfect fit as the platform to help SPYRUS deliver a high assurance, secure instant messaging communications system for use in both the government market and the rapidly growing corporate Enterprise market, which has its own requirements for protecting corporate data and complying with regulations such as Gramm-Leach-Bliley, Sarbanes-Oxley, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)."

"The use of public networks, even to the slightest degree, for communications within or between enterprises will always present an inherent security risk. This holds true for instant messaging, email, voice-over-IP, or any other method no matter how a system may be deployed or managed," said Maxime Seguineau, CEO and Chairman of Antepo. "Increasingly, government agencies and the private sector alike are showing zero tolerance for potential security breaches of highly sensitive or mission-critical information. Our partnership with SPYRUS is an example of this clear market demand shifting away from utilizing insecure networks of any kind."

OPN System is currently the only EIM solution that offers OEM, VAR, and hosting partners a platform to build EIM and presence capabilities into new product lines or service offerings -- while offering the security and compliance features that today's organizations demand. Antepo also supports real-time, mobile communications with its OPN Client for BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds(TM), offering cross-platform instant messaging beyond the confines of the office.
