Hydra PC™ Virus Protected (ViP) USB Encryption Drives with McAfee® Antivirus Scanning
Hydra PC ViP combines the hardware-based encryption protection of the Hydra PC Personal Encryption Device or Hydra PC Digital Attaché with the powerful McAfee antivirus protection provided by Sentry A-V software from SPYRUS. Now the strongest USB encryption drives commercially available also offer the security of malware and spyware protection.
Sentry A-V scans each Hydra PC file-by-file encryption and decryption operation for known viruses. Virus definition libraries are frequently updated, so even if a file is contaminated by a new virus when encrypted, the virus is likely to be known and detected when the file is decrypted. Users can configure options for updating malware definition files and for handling any viruses, malware, or spyware detected.
Hydra PC USB encryption drives already provide complete protection from viruses and malware spread through autorun files. Users must log on to a Hydra PC and decrypt files before any file can open, which intrinsically disables all autorun commands. With Sentry A-V, those files are scanned at decrryption, and embedded viruses or malware can be detected and managed before the file is manually opened.
The Hydra PC adds a cryptographic "seal" to all files at encryption, enabling detection of any subsequent tampering attempts or file corruption when a file is later decrypted. An intact seal at decryption guarantees data integrity. The file-by-file encryption method used bySentry A-V is much more secure than sector-based encryption, used by competing USB encryption drives, which can leave files vulnerable to tampering, interception, or virus infection when the drive is in use.
The on-board file encryptor uses algorithms specified in the U. S. Government's Suite B standard, including AES, ECC, and SHA-2. The Hydra PC stores encrypted files on a replaceable miniSD/miniSDHC memory card for almost unlimited on-board storage capacity. You can also store encrypted files on your computer's hard drive or any portable storage drive.
Specify Hydra PC ViP to include Sentry A-V antivirus protection with new orders. Sentry A-V is also available as an add-on to existing Hydra PC software.
