Personal Access Reader (PAR) 2
The PAR 2 is one of the most versatile and cost-effective smart card readers available. Compatible with most standard smart cards, including the U. S. Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) and the Rosetta Smart Card Series II, it is a practical choice for both small organizations and enterprises.
The compact, portable reader doubles as an ID badge holder and easily clips to a lanyard. The smart card slips into a transparent sleeve on the back of the reader to show information printed on the card.

Connected and Standalone Operating Modes
The PAR 2 is the only smart card reader with a fully programmable and reloadable second processor specifically for interactive applications. You can load a SPYRUS application, such as the CAC Dataviewer, or you can use the available software development kit to create your own applications. Applications can be updated or replaced at any time.

Connected Mode You can connect to the host PC directly with a USB cable or use the optional powered docking station. The dock is available with either a serial or USB connection.
The PAR 2 integrates with most standard smart card logon, digital signature, and encryption applications. Secure PIN entry through the PAR 2 keypad safeguards passwords, digital certificates, and other sensitive information stored on the smart card.
|
Standalone Mode The PAR 2 can operate anywhere on the power of its replaceable battery. You can run the built-in clock and calculator or any custom application through the keypad and two-line LCD display.
